Three BIG things…
Hey Buckhead Church! Welcome back . . . and welcome to 2011!
I wanted to swing through and give you a few things that you need to know and think about as January begins to unfold around us.
• BIG CHURCH! This Sunday, we’ll be kicking off a brand new series called Big Church. This is one of those series that is ideal for inviting that person that you always thought would love our church, but has never come to check it out. So, take two minutes, think about the best way to invite that person, do it, plan to meet before the service, and enjoy walking with them as they discover Buckhead Church and lots more!
• THE BIG IDEA! Many of our families with elementary-age kids in UpStreet and KidStuf joined in Monday night’s online Foto Finish challenge. Our family did. It was a blast and a great chance for us, as a family, to practice and talk about this month’s “Big Idea” of COOPERATION! You can see a few of the fun Foto Finish pictures on the KidStuf Facebook page. If you missed the opportunity, you can play again THIS COMING MONDAY (January 10) at 7 p.m. at www.kidstuf.com.

• BIG GROUPLINK THIS MONTH: You’ll hear us say this a few times this month. Our church is much too big to get all that you need by simply participating in the Sunday worship service. As awesome as that experience is, it can’t provide the intimacy and connection you need. Around here, we feel that every person needs to be “known” and sit in a circle of trusted, connected friends on a regular basis. Bottom line: one of the most important decisions you can make at Buckhead Church is to decide to be in a community group.
Community groups are small groups of six married couples or eight individuals of the same gender that meet weekly in a group member’s home for fellowship, Bible study, and prayer. They are for adults of all ages, stages of life, and spiritual maturity.
I tell you all this so that you can start thinking and praying about this step. The way you get into a community group is through an event called GroupLink, where all those seeking to get into a community group come to Buckhead Church to meet and form groups. GroupLink happens for men’s groups on Thursday, January 27 (7:30 p.m.), for women’s groups on Friday, January 28 (7:30 p.m.), and for married groups on Saturday, January 29 (7:00 p.m.).
