The Living Room
The Living Room Kicks Off Tonight!
The Living Room kicks off on Monday Aug. 25th at 8:00pm at the Biltmore across from Tech Square in Midtown. The Living Room is a place where college students from all over the city can gather to worship, be challenged by God’s Word and connect with students from Georgia State, Georgia Tech, Emory, SCAD, Kennesaw State and many other schools in the city. We put together a little video to get the word out about the Living Room. Check it out!

College Ministry at BC
Most of you don’t think in terms of semesters anymore, or what you will do for Fall Break this year, or if you should wait to study for that chemistry final until the night before…but our college team does. In the college ministry, we know what it is like to live in semesters. And we love it. We love that this semester was full of new things in the college ministry, and all worth celebrating. Take a minute and celebrate with us?
In August, we celebrated the fact that after searching for several months, we would have a new home for The Living Room, our weekly college gathering. Meeting at The Biltmore has provided students from Ga Tech, Ga State, Kennesaw State, and other Atlanta-area schools the chance to gather for worship and teaching on Monday nights.
Our first GroupLink at The Biltmore was cause for celebration in September. This semester, 209 students were connected in groups, and we celebrate the life change that happens each week when these students meet in their small groups all across Atlanta.
Each Fall semester has to come to an end, so we figure we should make the most of it. Every December we create an intentional foyer environment for college students called Christmas Illuminated. This Fall, we moved Christmas Illuminated onto Ga Tech’s campus and into the Ga Tech Student Center Ballroom (last year we held it outside, and it was freeeeeezing!!). On December 3 at noon, we pulled up to the Student Center and began decorating the ballroom, hoping to create an inviting place for those who would come, and might not know Christ. Once we opened the doors, about 300 college students found their way in and, after grabbing a styrofoam cup of hot cocoa, joined in singing Christmas carols as worship to Jesus.
Following worship, each person got to hear how Christ’s coming brought peace on earth- a personal peace that allows an intimate relationship with the Savior of the world. We do not yet know how Christmas Illuminated has impacted the college campuses of the Atlanta area, but we do know that lives were changed that night and questions are being asked about the Savior who brings peace. We look forward to the semesters ahead. And we celebrate that we get to live in them.
A HUGE thanks to the college team: Brad Horton, Ryan Van Sickle and Danielle Taussig
