(And I’ll admit that it was my idea.) I thought for sure people would skip the Super Bowl (especially since the Falcons weren’t playing in it) to attend church. Around 12 people did. We learned a hard lesson that night.

So, we’ll see you Sunday at 9 and 11. Special guest John Ortberg will be with us. In the meantime, we give you Tripp, Tyler and former Pittsburgh Steeler Jerome Bettis to prepare you for Super Bowl Sunday.

Go Falcons,

Attention Men of Buckhead Church!
When you think back to your middle school years, do you remember looking up to someone? Does a face come to mind of someone who took the time to hang out with you, play video games, talk, watch sports, and who led you to know Christ in a more real way? Well, we need this type of person in our middle school ministry. We are looking for small group leaders who will hang out with middle school students, share in their lives, and help lead them into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. If you are interested, please contact Kelly at kelly.clements@buckheadchurch.org.

7|22
7|22 is taking a break from our weekly Tuesday night meetings over the summer . . . but don’t worry! You can still join us for our exciting new summer series Unabridged. We’ll be reading three books together this summer and hearing from each of the authors at our monthly meetings. Here is a sneak peek at the summer lineup: June 24, The Shack with author William P. Young; July 22, The Organic God with author Margaret Feinberg; August 19, They Like Jesus But Not The Church with author Dan Kimball. For more information, be sure to check out 722.org.

Men’s Prayer Group
All men of Buckhead are invited to meet Monday mornings in the Attic at Buckhead Church from 6:30 a.m. until 7:30 a.m. for the weekly men’s prayer time. Please use our Visitor Parking by turning off of Tower Place Drive onto the cobblestone driveway between our building and the Buckhead Grand. For more information, visit www.buckheadchurch.org/mensprayer.

College Summer Gathering
School’s out for the summer, but the college ministry isn’t sitting idly by. The College Summer Gathering is currently meeting every Monday night at 7:30 p.m. in the Attic at Buckhead Church for worship, teaching, and discussion. The Summer Gathering is a great time for college students to connect and high school graduates to get plugged into the college ministry. For more information, check out our Facebook group, visit www.collegegathering.org, or email collegeministry@buckheadchurch.org.

KidStuf Auditions
KidStuf is holding open auditions for the cast for 2008-2009. We are looking for actors for each of our three campuses (North Point, Buckhead, and Browns Bridge). KidStuf is a 35-minute, high-energy production that happens during the school year. We are looking for actors with strong improvisational skills, comedic timing, and who can memorize quickly. Auditions will be held Monday, June 16. For more information or to sign up for an audition slot, please visit www.kidstuf.com.

This past Sunday we challenged you to prioritize “who you are” over “what you do” or “who you know” by setting aside your “to do” list for a season and to begin making a “to be” list. We want to know what some of you are putting on your personal identity list. We were thinking it might help us all to share with the whole community the Christ-like characteristics we have come up with. The goal is not to have an exhaustive list, but to focus on the things that God is revealing to you about the character of His Son. As promised I have included my list below along with a reminder of the 4 questions that will help you get started if you haven’t yet begun.

A suggested method for prioritizing your personal character:

1. Make a list of values – ones that describe who you want to become.
2. Attach verses from the Bible – that support these Christ-like characteristics.
3. Take personal inventory – to figure out how well you are doing and where you need to focus.
4. Use your list to measure success – falling short should feel like failure, but use it as motivation.

My list:

1. Generous – Proverbs 11:25
2. Honest – John 3:19-21
3. Dependable – Matthew 5:37
4. Compassionate – Colossians 3:12
5. Grateful – 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
6. Self-sacrificing – Philippians 2:1-8

You have found the web portal for the mission to find our secret identity.
In the coming days you will find various missions and items that will help you truly find your identity in Christ.
Joel brought a great message today on who you are in Christ.
He also talked about focusing on that ONE THING.
That ONE THING you need to focus on in order to find your true identity.

Here is the best news of the day…
After God made that decision of what his children should be like, he followed it up by calling people by name. After he called them by name, he set them on a solid basis with himself. And then, after getting them established, he stayed with them to the end, gloriously completing what he had begun.
– Romans 8:29-30 ( The Message )

Stay tuned for some important questions this week.
