BC Staff Profile: Sarah Wheeler
Do you ever wonder who works during the week to create the great stuff that you see at Buckhead Church on Sundays?
We thought so.
That is why, from time to time, we toss up a quick Q&A so you can meet some of our Buckhead Church staff. This week, we’re pleased to introduce you to:
Sarah Wheeler, Membership & Baptism Coordinator
Hometown: Alpharetta, Georgia

What exactly do you do on staff at Buckhead Church?
I help our church get baptized! I can’t even begin to share what a rewarding job I have. I feel so incredibly blessed to walk alongside all those at Buckhead Church who go public with their faith in Christ through baptism. I also coordinate our membership process, which includes helping people get connected and involved and, ultimately, become partners with us in our mission.
What do you do “behind the scenes” that the average attendee would not realize there is a “face” behind?
I get to do baptism laundry. It typically takes two to three loads to get all the towels and clothing washed from Sunday’s service. I also help each person prepare his/her testimony and I produce the baptism videos.
How has your work with baptisms at BC impacted your own faith?
It amazes me to continually see God’s sovereignty and might as I listen to the testimonies. Hearing their stories of salvation and life-change, as well as their courage to be bold with their faith in Christ, encourages me to be bold, to lean on him, to seek him, and to trust him in all things.
What did you do before coming on staff at BC?
I went to college at New York University, where I studied Theatre, TV, and Film. I lived in NYC for seven years and worked for a really fun event planning company.
What do you do when you’re not at BC?
Lately, I’ve been learning to horseback ride, which has quickly become a passion for me. I also act on the side, when I can find some free time in my schedule. I’m in the latest O’Charley’s commercial as a restaurant patron. Coming up in a few weeks, I’ll be a guest actress in an episode of The Vampire Diaries that airs on the CW.
If you could do any job in the world for one day, what would it be?
I’d love to be a dolphin trainer for a day! I have a unique talent of being able to make all sorts of realistic animal noises. I’ve been known to show them off for folks filming their baptism videos. It’s almost always a sure bet to break the tension and get a few laughs!

I thought this was really interesting. Sarah has a great personality and I will be looking out for her in that O’charleys commercial. Maybe she can act in one of my screen plays
