Today we’re honored to have Michael Lukaszewski write a guest post on the Buckhead blog.  Michael is the lead pastor of Oak Leaf Church in Cartersville.  As you’re about to see, God is doing great things through him and the Oak Leaf team.  And, as always Buckhead Church, thank you for being a church that encourages and inspires leaders like Michael and churches like Oak Leaf.

When my family and I moved to Atlanta five years ago to start a new church, we visited a bunch of churches in the area, including Buckhead Church. We knew about Northpoint and Buckhead, and have learned a lot from Andy Stanley. Since that initial visit, we’ve had the opportunity to worship with you several other times and we always walk away welcomed, challenged, inspired.

Young churches like Oak Leaf Church (we’ll be four years old this August) stand on the shoulders of so many who have gone before. Not only are you guys making a difference in your city, you are influencing young church planters like me all around the world. You are leveraging your influence and that’s sending ripples throughout the Kingdom. From our first weekend services in a movie theater to ongoing ministry in Cartersville, we continue to learn from you and your leadership team.

Because God has been good to us, and has seemingly given us a small platform to encourage other church planters, we have decided to invest all we can in equipping and inspiring other church planters and planting teams. That begins next week with a one-day conference we’re calling Nuts and Bolts. We’ve got about 250 church planters and their teams coming to Cartersville for one day of practical training. It’s a $10, one-day event, with all the proceeds directly supporting church planting. If you’re starting a church or thinking about starting a church, perhaps this event will help you.

We would not be able to share what we’ve learned without learning from others. Thanks for your generosity and heart for the world. Thanks for your influence and ideas. And thanks for your leadership.
