Gift Card Sunday for Nashville
The images from the Nashville flood are unbelievable.
Having experienced our own flood in Atlanta last September we know the devastation this can bring. So, we want to help.
As you may know, we have a partnership church in Nashville called Cumberland Church. http://www.cumberlandonline.org/main.asp Cumberland is led by Brian Smith. Many Cumberland families have lost everything and the church is helping them with clean-up and next steps.
We want to help them.
We also want to help our friends at Cross Point Church. We’ve had a long-running friendship with Pete Wilson, Jenni Catron and the staff at Cross Point. http://www.crosspoint.tv/ Like Cumberland, Cross Point is doing some amazing work at helping people recover.
There are three ways we can help Nashville by partnering with Cumberland and Cross Point.
1. Next Sunday, May 16th is going to be Gift Card Sunday for Nashville at Buckhead Church. We are asking you to purchase and bring gift cards to The Home Depot, Lowe’s, Target and Wal-Mart. It can be for any amount. We will have a drop-box for you to simply bring the cards to church next Sunday. The cards will be distributed through Cumberland and Cross Point.
2. We are coordinating a work trip to Nashville on an upcoming Saturday to help with clean-up. The trip will leave from Buckhead Church. If you are interested in participating, please comment on today’s blog.
3. Please pray for the recovery efforts.
Thanks Buckhead Church!

Pastor Pete put up this link. Saw it on facebook. Thank you so much for loving on Nashville.
I wasn’t a flood victim but I know so many that were hurt. Thank God that the body of Christ is coming together in amazing beautiful ways.

Thank you all so much for the kind words and desire to help. I attended Buckhead for many years before moving back to Nashville this past fall where I currently attend Cumberland Church. There is an incredible amount of work that needs to be done here. So many people have lost loved ones and everything they own. Among all the devastation and heartache it has truly been beautiful to see God work through so many individuals. I have never seen such an outpouring of love and service until the past few days. Thank you Buckhead (and North Point) for your love, support, and prayers. We look forward to seeing all of you who can make it here to help!

I am out of town this weekend so will not be attending church to drop off my gift card. How can I get it to you to still donate and what is the deadline?

Jeff, what about VISA or AMEX gift cards since they can use them anywhere for anything they need? Are those okay too?

More people should take part in positive activities such as this. Very inspirational.
