Happy Birthday Buckhead Church
Nine years ago today, less than 200 people showed up for the very first worship service at Buckhead Church. This photo is from that first gathering. (I guess it’s a bit ironic that there’s a large screen behind Andy. This was before the days of video church.)
No one there that night could have possibly imagined what God was going to do over the next nine years. In fact, there are just two words to adequately describe it: Only God.
I have had a front row seat observing what the Lord has been doing through all of you over these nine years and it has been an incredible journey.
Thank you for following Jesus so closely that you have caused so many people in this community to begin to doubt their doubts about God.
Thank you for serving, not out of obligation but out of passion and with excellence.
Thank you for giving financially in both good economic times and bad.
These past nine years have certainly created some bright and fond memories. But I am so glad our memories of the past do not exceed our dreams for the future.
The years ahead of us are full of immense potential. Let’s keep our eyes on Jesus, walk with confident humility and have fun along the way.
