@work

Last week, I was visiting a friend at his office and we stopped by the cubicle of one of his co-workers.  There, taped below her computer, was the card we gave out week one of the “@ work” series with Colossians 3:23.   I have received emails of photos of that card taped around your different work environments as a reminder of what your true purpose at work really is.

I believe we have the opportunity to create a different kind of mindset at work by living out what the Bible has to say about what we do. It starts by keeping the three principles we talked about front and center in your daily work.  To help with this, we handed out a series recap.  If you didn’t receive one, you can print it out here.

As we said in this series, most of us are going to spend 60% of our waking hours @ work.  Thank you for seeing those hours as an incredible opportunity to glorify our Savior.

Grateful,

Jeff

    I’ve really enjoyed your previous messages. Don’t get me wrong, they were all great but I thought @work was amazing.

    Really dug what you had to say and really appreciate the practicality of what was shared.

    Just listened to the final message in this series. Jeff, this was the best series I’ve ever heard on work. Thanks for sharing it with us. Keep up the great work!

    I agree with the article on this website that Chick-fil-A shows positive virtues which are lacking in many companies. Recently, I became familiar with a Christian individual, who has a terrific book that is designed to help those who are unemployed as well as high school students applying to colleges, individuals who feel unfulfilled in their work and basically anyone hoping to avoid Satan’s snares during these perilous end times. The book is selling well in Houston and part of the reason is that one of Dr. Clark’s credit card processing firms has an affiliate program that is free to join and that can provide its affiliates with unique “hoplinks” to his website. This means that any church providing a unique-to-it-only hoplink to his site (in an e-mail, a bulletin, newsletter or a website), which results in a sale through that credit card processor, receives a 75% commission. This is the maximum that the credit card processor allows. A church wins since it does not have to inventory the e-book and since it receives the bulk of the profits on the very helpful e-book at ABCPhD.com. Since the book ends with a prayer sharing the milk of the gospel message, it is not only great for Believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, but it can also be used as a creative witnessing tool to non-believers who are going through a crisis. Yet, the main thing that impresses me about Dr. Clark’s effort is that it appears as though Dr. Clark is sacrificially striving to help others based upon the solid content that he provides and the generous commissions that sellers receive. Thus, it appears as though he is following the lead of Chick-fil-A.

    That series meant a lot to a friend of mine who is between jobs now. We live in Baltimore, so he watched on NPOnline. Thanks!
