What would you do with $27,500?

Perhaps you’d purchase a new car, such as the 2010 Volvo S40

or you’d buy a really nice watch like this Rolex

or you’d choose to get involved in Be Rich, our annual giving and serving campaign, to provide

• 50 nights of shelter for a homeless mother and child
• 22 new books for Woodson Elementary School’s library
• almost $5,000 aid to victims of human trafficking in Southeast Asia
• 48 families in Atlanta with their groceries for a week
• food, clothing, and toys for 52 families with underprivileged children in Spain
• start-up job assistance to 22 people
• 10 weeks of residential recovery for homeless individuals
• 19 displaced families in Pakistan with food, toiletries, and clothing for a month
• 18 scholarships to students at Woodson elementary for an end-of-the-year school trip
• and 140 Christmas presents for children in South Africa.

During our first 3 weeks of Be Rich, you guys chose the latter, and we’re so glad!  You’ve put into practice the words of 1 Timothy 6:18 by “being rich in good deeds.” And the $27,500 doesn’t include the 845 volunteer opportunities you’ve registered to fill, the food you’ve given in our food drive, or the service projects that you’ve creating on your own!

We’re off to a great start!  In the remaining 5 weeks of Be Rich, I’m excited to see and hear about what you continue to do!
