Thank you
On Sunday, we asked you to help support Furniture Bank, one of our Intersect Project partners, in their efforts to help victims of last week’s flood. Their greatest need is to provide mattresses for those in need. Once again, you stepped up to help. You gave over $30,000, which will go directly to Furniture Bank for the mattresses. In addition, we are hearing great stories of how small groups and other gatherings of people are jumping in to help.
As a reminder, we are also supporting Buckhead Christian Ministry by asking you to drop off clothes over the next couple of weeks. In addition, you can find additional serving and giving opportunities with Samaritan’s Purse.
My friend Shaun King is also doing an incredible work through Courageous Church. You can find out what they’re doing here: http://www.hopeatl.com/
I love the fact that people aren’t waiting around to help. You are jumping in by searching for ways to help, give, pray and support. You are living out Titus 3:14: “Our people must learn to devote themselves to doing what is good, in order to provide for urgent needs and not live unproductive lives.”
As always, I am very humbled to be a small part of what God is doing through our gathering.
Thank you!
Jeff

It has been amazing to see everyone from Buckhead Church pulling together out in the field and helping flood victims throughout Atlanta. Over the past week I have been in many homes of people who have suffered a lot, yet I have seen nothing but positive attitudes from homeowners thanks to the hard work of everyone showing Christ’s love to people in need. You are all making a huge difference in their lives and mine. Thank you for your hard work and your incredible smiles!

If you’re in the Buckhead area, please join us for the Lunch Trek to Terminus on October 15th. We’ll be donating our lunch money, which will go directly to Samaritan’s Purse to help flood victims here in Georgia.

It’s truly amazing to see the impact that this flood has made on these families. I volunteered with HopeATL on Saturday and it took a while for it to sink in that this was in metro Atlanta! This Austell couple just bought their house four months ago and now has lost nearly everything. We literally gutted their house! (wet insulation and all! ) I worked along side a family who had traveled down from South Carolina to help. It was a little disappointing to see so many cars passing by with people looking. Imagine how much work could be done if everyone pitched in! I can’t wait to go back again. Go to http://www.hopeatl.com if you want to help Shaun. He’s a 29-y-o who started Courageous Church and is the director of HopeATL.

There is a newly renovated home in Marietta that the Owner is willing to rent out to a flood victim. It is in Marietta – East Cobb. It is on the market for sale, and is presently vacant.
