Staff Spotlight-Mike Glogorski
Buckhead Church, this is Mike. Mike, this is Buckhead Church.
What do you do at Buckhead Church?
I oversee the groups areas of the Care Network (i.e. Oasis Divorce Recovery, Intimate Encounters Marriage Enrichment, and Care Leader Training)
Where did you go to college?
The University of Richmond–Go Spiders! Yes, I said Spiders. At least it’s not as bad as the University of Delaware Blue Hens!
What was your Major?
Political Science
What is a fun thing to know about you?
I was one audition away from being the kid in the movie “The Shining” (“REDRUM!”). I had made it through several auditions before my mom had a chance to actually read the book. She didn’t get too far into it before stopping to call the casting director to tell him that we wouldn’t be coming to California for the next round…
Why did you decide to work at BC?
I knew God had called me to leave my business and go into full-time ministry, but I wasn’t sure where He wanted me. I had been attending North Point since the Galleria days, and then Buckhead Church in the Doubletree days. Once I went through Intimate Encounters, I knew that Care Ministry was what I was supposed to do. Then as I got to know the folks at Buckhead Church a bit better, there was just a different level of energy around here than there was anywhere else–then again, it could have just been the fact the Kristen Franklin and Jill Howgate were sitting next to each other…
What is your favorite thing about working here?
Having the privilege of seeing God change people’s lives nearly every day!
What has been your favorite project since you have been here or What project are you most proud of?
Hopefully a year from now I’ll be able to say “Our new marriage enrichment curriculum!” But for now, I would say the Intimate Encounters trip to Pakistan was just the most amazing thing I’ve ever been a part of. I’ve never seen so much life change in so short a period of time in such a hostile environment. It was astounding. It was also the first time in my adult life that I acknowledged I was completely unable to protect myself and my loved ones–that I was totally dependent on God to care for us. I know it sounds silly, but that had been a real point of pride for me for a long time.

Cool story! It is a such a great pleasure to work with you in Care, you are a great asset to our team. So glad you didn’t take the part in the Shining though, I somehow can not see you in a horror movie.
