Buckhead Church Does Not Win a Grammy!!!

But we did win a Community Partner Award from Buckhead Christian Ministry! I, along with a couple of staff members, had the privilege of accepting the award on our church’s behalf at BCM’s annual volunteer appreciation dinner.

As she introduced us, Helen Cunningham, BCM’s executive director, described the ways we’ve supported them in 2008.  It’s an impressive list! In addition to many of you who volunteer at BCM, we collected 7 tons of food (that’s 14,000 lbs!) for their clients. Fusion groups gathered enough hygiene items to last them 6 months.  And our host teams created kits of household goods to help every family in their transitional housing program move from homelessness into a home. 

As is customary after receiving an award, we have a long list of individuals to thank.  To each and every one of you who helped us support BCM, thank you! Thank you for bringing boxes full of food. Thank you for donating brooms, pillows, and light bulbs. Thank you for providing toothbrushes and deodorant. Thanks for giving your time.  Your generosity is making a difference in our community!
