Life in Romania
Our team recently returned from an amazing camp in Romania where we were able to help assist our partner ministry hold their annual ski camp. This has always been a great opportunity for the students involved with the ministry to invite their friends to attend a non-threatening environment where they can have fun leaning to ski while still being exposed to the Gospel and the student ministry.I have asked Hailee, one of our team members going on her first GlobalX trip, to share some of her thoughts.“When deciding to apply for my first mission trip, I really wanted to take a step completely out of my comfort zone and force myself to rely on God in a way I have never had to before. I chose this Romania trip because it was a place I had never been before, the people speak a language I have never heard, I didn’t know any of my teammates, and I did not know how to ski. As I prepared for this trip, I asked God to allow me to rely fully on him throughout the entire process.Vox Domini is the church in Timisoara, Romania that is partners with North Point Ministries. Within Vox Domini, the college ministry called OSCET (Organization of Student Christian Evangelicals in Timisoara) held its annual ski camp. During the ski camp, 80 students were split into groups of ten where our team was able to help instruct skiing during the day and lead small groups at night. This gave us the ability to build lasting relationships with these students. Our main purpose on this trip was to assist the OSCET leadership team in any way they needed us. This included teaching students to ski, leading small groups, brainstorming event ideas, and spending time in prayer for the students and for the camp.I had an amazing time on this trip and I can’t wait for my next mission trip!”HaileeI have been a part of several trips to Romania, and each time and each team is completely different, and it is always amazing to see how God brings completely different people together for His purpose. I know it may seem like an extremely big step to take, but if you are considering going on a trip, I highly recommend you prayerfully consider it.DJ[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/v/OzenMMsEKzM 425 350]

Romania and our partner church in Timisora are definitely filled with amazing people who change your heart as you are blessed to experience God alongside them. Stacy and I went in 2005 and 2006, and pray every day for the amazing ministry to continue there.
Thanks for this great reminder, and for all that you do, DJ and Buckhead Church!
