Staff Spotlight-Kristen Franklin
Kristen, this is Buckhead Church, Buckhead Church, this is Kristen. (she’s the one on the right)
What do you do at Buckhead Church? I work for Jeff Henderson, our Campus Pastor to try and keep him straight. I also try to help make sure our staff loves working here and has a lot of fun.
Where did you go to college? University of Evansville
What was your Major? Biology/Pre-med and I also played Div. 1 soccer there
What is a fun thing to know about you? I once took a trip by myself to Inverness Scotland knowing full well that I would see Nessie. I also LOVE to cook and am pretty good at it.
Why did you decide to work at BC? I’m a product of North Point Ministries. I mean, I didn’t even know Ephesians was actually a book IN the Bible. Someone invited me, I accepted Christ after the Labor Day Retreat, was in a small group three days later and have never looked back. NPCC and Buckhead Church have changed my life and when the opportunity came up, I jumped at the chance to be a part of what God is doing in the lives of people across this city.
What is your favorite thing about working here? Getting to hear about people’s lives being changed as God’s story unfolds in their lives. I also LOVE the people I get to work with. They challenge me, they make me laugh, they are driven, yet fun. Plus, Jeff puts up with me.
What has been your favorite project since you have been here or What project are you most proud of? Gosh, this one is hard. When I worked for KidStuf, I made a light up lie detector jacket that I was quite proud of. I would say the staff retreats we used to do were fun. However, probably helping the kids at Woodson get brand new shoes and healthy snacks was one of my favorites. Their little faces when we were sizing them and fitting them with the shoes were just priceless. When I would deliver the truckload of snacks, the little boys that were in the office would fight to help me and would be so proud when they had finished clearing out the back of the car.

loving the info & pix of the Franklin Family…NOBODY does it better than Kristen. She’s reppin the HOOD (family) quite well!!! LOL Much love to ya…

Having sampled many of Kristen’s dishes, I can report that yes, she is quite good at cooking. For a second I thought she was being prideful but no, she isn’t!
BTW, when are you cooking me curry again??
