Be Rich in good deeds

The following is a portion of an email I received about a recent “Be Rich” service project.  I thought you would enjoy reading it as much as I did.  God continues to move His Kingdom forward through you, Buckhead Church. Way to go!

Jeff

“On Saturday November 22nd,  a group of 60+ people volunteered their time to put together sack lunches for the homeless living on the streets and under the bridges in the city of Atlanta.  The group was comprised mainly of Buckhead Church Middle School Students, their small group leaders, friends and parents. We had volunteers that represented almost every area of Buckhead Church including Family Ministry, students, small group leaders, Host Team, and Starting Point. We even had some people come to volunteer that don’t even attend Buckhead.  What was really special about this event was not only did volunteers come together and pay to make these lunches (500 of them), but the children actually wanted to go downtown to deliver the meals, pray for and show love to the lost in our community.   We also had everyone bring clothes, jackets, blankets, shoes and towels.  It was so exciting to see God working in and through the lives of these young adults and volunteers. It was truly a reflection of what God is doing in the lives of our church members and what Buckhead Church is all about. The ministry that we partnered with for the service project is called 7 Bridges to Recovery.  7 Bridges to Recovery is a self described Rescue Team for Jesus. To learn more about this ministry please visit their website at www.7bridgestorecovery.org .”

It was surely an incredible eye opening experience.
Big ups to Michael and the Xtreme small group leaders that put it together.
