What an incredible Sunday! Thank you Buckhead Church! Because of your incredible generosity, our high school students raised $11,175 for wells in Africa! That means that in one day we’ve raised enough money to build wells for three communities. Amazing! As the high school staff, together with all the students, we want you to know how thankful we are for you and for how you let “love move through you” into our city and world. As one student put it, “Our church rocks!”
On top of the money we raised, what made Sunday even sweeter was watching students’ faith grow as they stepped out and sold water to a bunch of adults they’ve never met before. When God uses you to accomplish something God-sized, something that’s way bigger than you, it changes your faith. This is what happened last Sunday. Thank you for making it possible!
So this coming week, we will be donating $11,175 to charity: water, an organization that has been building wells in Africa for several years. Our contribution will be part of a campaign to build over 300 wells in Ethiopia. You can go to www.charitywater.org to find out more about the campaign and the various villages where they will be building wells. You can also watch the trailer for the current campaign at the bottom of this post. In that trailer, you’ll see stories of villagers that hike miles to bring muddy (and in some cases diseased) water back to their families. It’s heartbreaking to watch, but inspiring to know that someone (and that now includes us) is doing something about it. Thanks for being part of the solution!
Thanks for giving and for helping grow the faith of our high school students!
