Twitter and beyond

Hey Buckhead bloggers. Here are a few miscellaneous items I thought you’d be interested in knowing.

• With Memorial Day fast approaching, we’re going to create an opportunity for you on the blog to remember and celebrate the life of a friend or family member. Amber Blossom will be giving us more details on this a little later this week.
• Be on the look-out for a “Night of Worship” at Buckhead later this summer. Last year’s was amazing.
• We ended our current season of KidStuf yesterday with a rousing performance. If that wasn’t cool enough, we helped launch KidStuf in Queretaro, Mexico yesterday as well. That’s what I’d call a busy day!
• Buckhead Church is Twittering. “What’s Twittering?” you ask. Well, look over on the right side of the blog page here and you will notice twitter updates. Twitter is a free social networking and micro-blogging service that allows users to send “updates” or “tweets” up to 140 characters long. With so many things happening at Buckhead Church, it’s hard to keep you informed on all of them. So, our Leadership Team will provide quick updates via Twitter as a way of giving you the latest breaking news and opportunities. You can check us out on Twitter by going to http://twitter.com/BuckheadChurch and signing up to follow. It’s a lot of fun.
• Speaking of our Leadership Team at Buckhead Church, many of you might not know who’s on that group. Here they are: Joel Thomas, Director of Singles and College; Bob Strickland, Director of Administration; Susanne Fatigati, Director of Membership & Care; Billy Phenix, Director of Family Ministry; Steve Giddens, Director of Groups; Rod Brown, Director of Global X; Carlos Whittaker, Director of Service Programming; Kristen Franklin, Assistant to the Campus Pastor; and little ol’ me, Campus Pastor. One of the many true joys of my time here has been the opportunity to laugh, pray, think and serve with this incredible group.
We will only have two services this coming Sunday due to the holiday weekend. See you at 9 am and 11 am.
• Finally, let us know what you thought of the conclusion of Faith, Hope and Luck by commenting here on the blog.

I have been going to Buckhead for about two years and this series of messages has been by far my favorite. Andy’s messages always get to me and make me grow in my faith but this series has really “rocked” me I guess you could say!

Almost everything that I have done this past month has made me think about what Andy has said. I think one of my favorite new quotes is ” Letting my Greatest Weakness be God’s Greatest opportunity!” What an amazing thought! I know my greatest weakness and have dealt with it all my life but just recently have I realized how much it was controlling me and in turn my faith. It was holding me back from trusting God and his plan 100 percent. I am now working on letting God make this HIS GREATEST OPPORTUNITY in my life! I have to tell you what a amazing feeling it is to finally give God this opportunity. I know I have a long way to go, but so far Im off to an amazing start!

By the way… wasn’t the music by Steve Fee or Fee amazing during worship?!

I can’t express how powerful Sunday’s message was. I have enjoyed the entire series, but Andy’s “All In”, “Get In or Get Out” call was so appropriate not just for me and my family, but for those around us. I will forever remember the “backpack God” analogy and how ashamed I was at how often I put our God in that package, but it encouraged me to once again step it up and be real enough with God to constantly and consistently make him the sole center of my life.
