Hope

When I look at this picture I see hope. Hope for a city called Atlanta. Hope in the local church. Hope in revival taking place at Buckhead Church. Hope that career Christians will retire and find that spark again. Hope that the thousands inside these walls will flood outside these walls and create a movement. Hope that God knows what He is doing. Hope in authenticity finding her way into the hearts of every person in that room. Hope not in Andy Stanley. Hope not in Jeff Henderson. Hope not in the amazing leaders and prophets God has called to this community.
But hope solely in the name of Jesus Christ.
Hope.

Staff Spotlight-Annette Daly

7

I’ll admit it.  I’m biased.  Nevertheless, I think our staff is the finest group of people ever assembled at a church.  See, I told you I’m biased.  Let me prove it though.  Once a week for the next several weeks, I want to feature one of our staff members.  Today, we’ll start with Annette Daly.  I often tell people our staff could be working at so many other places doing so many other things, and yet they’ve chosen to be a part of this vital mission.  If you don’t believe me, check out Annette’s major in college.  I wish I was as smart as her.

Jeff

Annette, meet Buckhead Church, Buckhead Church, meet Annette…

What do you do at Buckhead Church?

I’m the “Singles and College Department Coordinator” or Joel Thomas’ Assistant, which allows me to be involved in 7|22, Fusion, Singles Events and our College Ministry.

I also volunteer on the Production Team on Sundays and am a Small Group Coach for our College Ministry.

Where did you go to college?

Georgia Tech

What was your Major?

Biomedical Engineering (she has a masters degree in building arms and legs!)

Why did you decide to work at BC?

Working in full-time ministry wasn’t something I ever really thought of before, but when it came down to it I was drawn in by every aspect of this organization- the people, the community, the opportunities, the mission and the imprint that is left on everyone who walks through these doors. I wanted to work in a creative environment that was both challenging and supportive while knowing, that in the end, I would never look back on my life and wonder “what if”. Here, the possibilities seem endless.

What is your favorite thing about working here?

The people. The freedom. The fact that we are never placed in boxes. That we’re all free to dream big dreams and are encouraged to pursue them. That a typical work day for me never looks the same, that I can joke around with my boss and ask the team of people I work with to pray for me at any given moment, and to know that they really will. That we are never too busy to share a story, a picture, or laugh at a memory. That we learn from mistakes together. That we are challenged, we are encouraged, and no matter what, I can’t seem to see myself anywhere else at the moment.

The Problem with Valentine’s Day…and an Answer!

0

It is the eternal question.

“What am I going to do for my spouse this Valentines Day that is both fresh, creative, fun, and insightful, while trying to capture the magnitude that our marriage means to me?”

Well, I’d like to suggest an answer in February 9th’s Married Life Live at Buckhead Church! Consider it a built-in Valentine’s date night that will be an evening of laughter and great music alongside the creative presentation of relevant truths to empower and enrich your marriage! We’ve been working extra hard to build this Married Life Live and don’t want you to miss out! Remember, MarriedLife Live is for married couples of all ages . . . from newlyweds to empty nesters! Want to know more? The Married Life website is a great place to start … http://www.marriedlifeonline.com .

So, here are a couple of things you need to do…

1). GET YOUR TICKETS TODAY… Tickets are available to purchase online (http://www.marriedlifeonline.com ) and at the :Connections Resource Center and Resource kiosks at Buckhead Church on Sunday mornings.

2). TALK IT UP and BRING SOME FRIENDS! MLL is even more fun when you come with your friends and/or community group. Invite them along this week!

3) CONSIDER VOLUNTEERING: It takes a team of volunteers to pull off a Married Life Live night. If you have some extra time to help setup, host, and take down, simply email c-ashleynolan@buckheadchurch.org and we’ll get your name on the list and will contact you soon with more details.

See you on February 9th…because every marriage deserves more!

You Ask. We’ll Pray.

25

One of my fondest memories of 2007 was when we hosted the live Webcast prayer service three days before our opening at Tower Place. Hundreds and hundreds of us gathered around our computers in our homes to pray for the surrounding community and our friends who don’t know Jesus. Seeing those names come across the screen during the webcast was something I’ll never forget.

This week on the blog, I want us to take a similar approach. If you were with us yesterday, you heard Andy talk about our Just Ask initiative for this year. He challenged us to ask and specifically invite a friend to church this year. Who is that person for you? Please let us know. You can respond anonymously. You can put the initials of the person. Anonymous is more than fine. We simply want to pray for you and your friend as you ask them. Let us know.

You Ask. We’ll Pray.

Jeff
